Building the future: 10 things to know about Amrize
July 3, 2025
Over the past five years, Amrize has doubled in size. With our advanced branded solutions from foundation to rooftop, we are supporting a new era of construction fueled by infrastructure modernization, the onshoring of advanced manufacturing, digital innovation, and the need for more housing.
That’s why, on June 23, 2025, Amrize debuted on the New York Stock Exchange and Swiss Six Exchange as an independent, publicly traded company. We had grown too big to remain a subsidiary within global building solutions leader Holcim. It was time to unleash our full potential.
Here’s what you need to know about our business.

1. Who is Amrize? The partner of choice for professional builders.
Builders, contractors, architects, engineers, policymakers and cities already know us. As the partner of choice for professional builders, we’ve been helping build North America for over 100 years—with sites serving every U.S. state and Canadian province, expertise in every construction segment, and top brands from building materials to advanced roofing systems. But even if you’re not a builder, you likely experience our work. Amrize solutions are in the places where we live, work and play, from homes to hotels, airports to office buildings, data centers to schools. Check out some of our projects.

2. What does Amrize mean? A name and a purpose.
You can learn a lot about our company by understanding our name. Amrize integrates two concepts: “ambition” and “rising.” “Am” embodies how we empower builders to realize their greatest ambitions—through advanced branded solutions, cutting-edge innovation and the readiness to meet any need. “Rize” reflects our aspiration to lead North American construction forward—advancing how we build and live.

3. What does Amrize make? Advanced branded solutions from foundation to rooftop.
Amrize uniquely brings two business segments under one roof. On the building materials side, we deliver core building materials like cement, aggregates and ready-mix concrete, including:
- The high-performance OneCem® cement in the record-breaking Gordie Howe bridge connecting the U.S. and Canada.
- The advanced ECOPact and DYNAMax® concrete in the iconic, LEED Gold certified Populus Hotel in Denver.
- The high-fluidity Agileflow™ concrete used to produce 350 majestic support columns at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport.
In our building envelope segment, we provide commercial and residential roofing and wall systems and more to protect everything from homes to high-rises to priceless art. For example:
- Innovative Malarkey shingles that are helping reduce smog, deflect sunlight and lower temperatures and energy needs in Los Angeles homes.
- Closed cell Enverge™ NexSeal spray foam is protecting priceless artwork and reducing energy loss in D.C.’s National Museum of Women in the Arts.
- A customized Duro-Last® roofing system at the Twin Dolphin Condominiums in Florida protects homes from the climate and improves energy efficiency.

4. What sectors does Amrize serve? Every market, everywhere.
To cover our customers’ every need, for every project, we serve every construction market: infrastructure, commercial and residential. We’re also split roughly 50-50 between new construction and repair and refurbishment, providing an ideal balance between empowering new growth and supporting needed repair work. Cities, public authorities and companies are pushing new frontiers as they build the future. At the same time, 75% of commercial buildings are over 25 years old. The need to repair or refurbish our aging building stock is only going to grow. Learn more about our solutions.

5. What is driving growth in construction? 5 megatrends.
Several megatrends are converging to fuel a new era of growth in construction:
- Infrastructure modernization, from airports and railways to bridges and tunnels, is underway.
- Onshoring of manufacturing and supply chains brings opportunities—and construction—home.
- AI and the digital economy are growing exponentially, and with them the demand for data centers, warehouses and the infrastructure that supports them.
- Rising urbanization requires resilient and efficient homes, buildings and infrastructure to make cities more livable.
- The housing gap in North America continues to widen, with the U.S. alone short of around 5 million homes. Home builders are getting ready to bridge the gap.
These require the kind of innovative building solutions Amrize brings to help make people’s lives better.
